Washing
Wash your fiberglass boat with fresh water and marine boat soap after every use. Use a soft sponge or brush to avoid scratching the gel coat. Never use household cleaners on fiberglass.
Waxing
Apply marine wax every three to six months to protect the gel coat from UV damage and oxidation. A good wax layer makes cleaning easier and keeps the hull looking shiny and new.
Scratch Repair
Small scratches can be buffed out with marine rubbing compound. For deeper scratches, use a fiberglass repair kit. Address scratches quickly to prevent water from reaching the fiberglass fibers.
Bottom Care
The bottom of your fiberglass boat accumulates marine growth. Regular cleaning and anti-fouling paint prevent barnacles and algae from damaging the hull. Clean the bottom at least twice a year.
